We analyzed how market conditions shape GSMA Innovation Fund grantees’ impact through digital technology and mobile internet. Our framework mapped enabling and constraining factors—revealing how market dynamics, regulation, and user needs influence grantees’ pathways to scale and social impact.

By combining portfolio-level analysis with deep dives into selected country contexts, we identified levers influencing grantees’ impact, from policy environments to users’ digital literacy. The findings informed GSMA’s strategy and understanding of when and how innovations can shape individuals’ lives and well-being.
