The root of what we do.
In biology, the radicle is the first part of a seedling to emerge during germination, eventually becoming the primary root of a plant.
In our own work it is this emergent space where we thrive—getting to a root understanding of how social systems work, how a program or initiative is contributing to change within the system, and what the desired change requires to grow.
Learning Framework Design
In addition to external evaluations, our expertise includes designing organizational monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks for internal data collection and meaning making. Our approach is trust-based and community-oriented.
Learning and Facilitation Design
From one-hour workshops to full curriculum design, we design engaging and inclusive learning experiences. Whether in a boardroom or rural cooperative, we apply principles of adult-learning and social behavior change to inspire insight and action.
Strategy Development and Coaching
Through deep listening and insightful questioning, we support leaders and organizations in identifying goals and actions and navigating through complexity. The result is greater clarity, more effective strategy, and authentic ways of working.
Complexity-Aware Evaluation
We design and carry out evaluations when the path to change is anything but clear. Using participatory methods and a systems approach, we help chart pathways of and contributions to change.
Developmental Evaluation
Developmental evaluation accompanies program innovations with continuous collaboration and feedback. It is an adaptive approach which helps foster learning in quickly-changing environments.
Theory of Change Development
We aid social-impact organizations in articulating their vision for the future, the problem space they work within, and the relationships and movement between the two. We also know that to be useful, Theories of change must be beautiful.
