In a short time (6-8 weeks), we conduct a rapid exploratory and participatory engagement, taking on the issue of your choice to help you and key stakeholders arrive at a shared understanding of where you stand and the critical choices and possibilities you face. 

This work is paid as a flat fee, typically $7,500-$20,000 depending on the size of the organization, with half paid up front and half paid with an ending narrative and framework report that documents what we have discovered together.

• You have a clear scope of work or a known end goal in mind—an evaluation, a strategic plan, a learning brief, etc. 

• Often you use your procurement processes of a Terms of Reference or Request for Proposal to layout the service(s) you are seeking. 

• Maybe all you have is a goal and a budget to work with and would like a bid and scope. 

For this work, we typically negotiate a fixed fee.

Once we agree on a scope of work, we provide a brief proposed approach and plan, with a budget based on the estimated level of effort and a deliverable schedule tied to a percentage of the agreed-upon fee.

Ongoing care, accompaniment, and witness:

• You’re the leader and need someone in your corner as you navigate these turbulent times

• You’re attempting or cooking up something new and need a confidential second set of eyes or strategic support and guidance. 

• You are doing something in-house—an evaluation, an assessment, change management—but it could benefit from a brief expert consultation. 

This work keeps Anna Martin on retainer at an hourly rate. You will agree on the purpose and scope of the engagement and then put in place an agreement for up to a certain number of hours over a specific period of time. Hours can be invoiced monthly at a flat rate or as used within the month.
